An opportunity has arisen to become a part of The Angle Ring Co Limited team, with the UK’s largest steel bending range at our single site production facility.

Established in 1951, we have specialised in bending and curving metal & alloys for 70 years. We offer a comprehensive range of Section Bending, Press Braking, Plate Rolling, Heavy Plate Forming, Tube Manipulation, Pipe Forming and Spiral / 3-Dimensional Bending.

Summary of the Role

Manual Machinist / Mechanical Maintenance Role

Working Hours: 37 Hours per week as standard (07:30 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with 30 mins lunch, 07:30 – 12:30 on Fridays no lunch). Part time option also considered.

Requirements for the role

You must have a good understanding of, and experience with the use of manual (non CNC) machines is essential. Including lathes, vertical milling machines, surface grinders and shapers/slotters. It is a pre-requisite that you are experienced in this type of machinery. Experience with vertical borer, horizontal borers would be advantageous. Experience in mechanical maintenance is also required.

Candidate Requirements

Prior Experience, Qualifications and Personal Attributes

• Ability to handle heavier components with mechanical aids / cranes
• Perform tasks in varied environments, predominately workshop / workbench based, however elements of working outside, working at height and /or in confined spaces may be required.
• Safe operation of lifting equipment, cranes, and slinging of items (training supplied but experience required).
• Safe and efficient operation of hand tooling, power tools and other machines (training supplied, experience advantageous).
• Ability to adhere to good housekeeping practices and maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work area.
• Ability to adhere to all company policies, including Health and Safety and PPE
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the company
• Flexibility to work in a small team
• Working night shifts for up to 3 weeks per year for essential maintenance during the night

Salary

Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience. This role has an initial 6-month probationary period, becoming permanent if candidate proves suitable.

Certified training for forklift truck and access platform and also a car-driving licence would all be advantageous.
