Induction Bending

We operate three induction bending machines at Angle Ring, that have been designed and built in house, to offer a controlled hot bending technique through the application of localised heat and a copper induction coil.

The induction coil heats the circumferential part of the profile to a temperature between 700°C to 1100°C , which allows the section to be moved slowly through the coil whilst the bending force is applied by a fixed radius arm.

Unlike cold bending methods, our induction bending process requires just a single pass through the machine and eliminates strain on the section to produce minimal deformation.

Sections, tube, and hollows can be curved to single or multiple radii, or even to elliptical or 3D shapes through our state of the art induction bending machines.

Superunification lands in Ireland with the help of Angle Ring’s induction bent tubes

The export department at Tipton based metal bending specialists, Angle Ring Company, have set sail over the Irish Sea once again, this time providing a range of induction bent tubes for a wonderful piece of public art at Honeypark in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland.

The Kelpies become the front runner as the largest public work of art in Scotland

One of Scotland’s largest visitor attractions, The Kelpies stand proud on the banks of the Forth & Clyde canal near Falkirk, with Angle Ring playing a key part in the production of the two 30m high horses heads that elegantly break out of the ground in the 350 hectare parkland in the central lowland region.

To Hull and back as Angle Ring bends its way to the top of the Princes Quay Footbridge

The Highways England pedestrian footbridge spanning the A63 between Princes Dock and Hull Marina is now fully open after the two year project was completed in early 2021.

Steel bending Engineers Angle Ring put the Arch in Wembley

Despite the main curve of the 315m span Wembley arch being faceted in a series of straight sections it still required a large amount of complex bending to produce the lateral rings and jointing plates, which act as the hub for each section.

Angle Ring drives wind of change in UK energy sector

Dovetailing with the UK government’s plans for Britain to lead the world in the £4 trillion global market for low carbon environmental goods and services, The Angle Ring Company of Tipton, West Midlands, Europe’s market leader in pipe and plate bending, recognised wind power as a significant potential market as far back as 2003.

Gateshead International Music Centre nears completion

One of the most dramatic and exciting projects conceived for the industrial North East has been helped to come to fruition by the skill and expertise of The Angle Ring Company, who are based in the Midlands.
