2021 has been a significant year for us here at Angle Ring as we celebrated our 70th anniversary in business, yet it has been a turbulent year for the economy.

Daniel Barnshaw, Managing Director at The Angle Ring Company, takes a look back at 2021.

Established in 1951, we are proud to announce that we have been trading for 70 years! Being the third generation of the family in the business, and with the help of all the team at Angle Ring, my brother Mike and I look forward to the next generation of the family joining us in years to come. We will continue to support the many local families who we are grateful to have working with us here in Tipton.

We have faced many challenges, including material shortages, volatile prices, labour shortages (due to isolations), the energy crisis, fuel shortages, and the seemingly never-ending global pandemic.

The last two years have been one of the most trying trading periods the company has ever encountered, but we are hopeful that the marketplaces in which we trade will enter a period of sustainable growth.

We continue to invest in machinery, our facility, and our employees, to ensure we can remain one of the market leading metal bending specialists in the UK, and as the industry we operate in evolves, along with the new ambitions of net zero, Angle Ring is adapting to this ever-changing environment.

Charity

One of our Employees, Susie Wardley, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, and this year rather than celebrating our 70th anniversary with gifts or items which may end up being wasteful, we have instead decided to donate to the hospital as a thanks to the unit for supporting Susie in her recovery.

We are indebted to the ward for the help she received and hope our donation can assist with others who are going through something similar.

Sue has been with us for decades and we are so grateful her treatments were successful; she is now back in work as cheerful as before. Susie and all of us at Angle Ring cannot thank the unit enough for the support they gave her during her treatment.

We’re delighted to have been able to donate £700 to the Breast Cancer Unit at the Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust.

Finally, we would like to wish all our staff, clients, and suppliers a Happy Christmas and New Year, and we are looking forward to what we hope will be a more settled 2022!
